
The committee heading the drafting of the new constitution of Sri Lanka will be meeting today (23).
Minister of National Co-existence Dialogue and Official Languages, Mano Ganesan stated that the committee would be gathering on four consecutive days, starting today (23).
Accordingly, proposals for the new constitution submitted by all political parties will be reviewed and taken into consideration within the duration of the four days.
Minister Mano Ganesan added that the final draft of the constitution would be drawn up after the closing of the committee discussions.
Meanwhile, MP Bimal Ratnayake stated that the ‘Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna’ (JVP) had already submitted their party’s proposals to the committee.
