Four arrested over possession of local arms

Four individuals from the Morawewa area have been arrested over the possession of locally manufactured arms.
The arrests were made after an anonymous complaint was made against the individuals, revealing their mode of transport and route taken, which included a three wheeler journey from Trincomalee to Morawewa.
A thorough search of the three wheeler revealed pieces of locally manufactured arms.
The arrestees are believed to be residents of the Trincomalee and Kithuluthuwa areas.
The individuals will be presented to the Trincomalee Magistrate’s Court later today (24).
