Principals to decide closure of schools in flood hit areas

Education minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has granted approval to all principals in areas affected by floods to take decisions in closing or opening schools.
All schools in Ratnapura and Niwithigala education zones will be closed tomorrow (29).
The order has been put forward by the provincial education secretary in anticipation of the bad weather.
Hence, all schools in Ratnapura, Kuruwita, Ahaliyagoda, Kiriella, Haldummulla, Niwithigala, Kalawana, Ayagam and Kahawatha will be closed.
the schools affected in the South of the country will remain closed from the 29.05.2017 to the 30.06.2017.
