Four prisoners have reportedly escaped from the Negombo Prison.
The Prison Commissioner-General, Nishan Dhanasinghe stated that the four had fled from their holdings in the early hours today (30).
The escaped prisoners had reportedly been remanded in custody.
The Commssioner-General stated that an operation to capture the escapees has been launched by the Prison, together with the Negombo Police.
