INS Jalashwa arrives in Sri Lanka

The third ship dispatched from India carrying relief supplies and personnel, the INS Jalashwa, has reportedly arrived in Sri Lanka.
The President’s Media Division stated that the relief goods were formally accepted by the President’s Secretary, P. B. Abeykoon, who then proceeded to hand them over to the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Commander, Vice Admiral Ravindra Wijegunaratne.
Simultaneously, measures were taken to direct the team of doctors and other humanitarian workers who came aboard the ship to areas in-need.
The team of doctors and the shipment of medicine, dry rations, small boats, bottles of drinking water, rain coats, tents and other essential items collectively amounted up to a weight of 10 tonnes, according to sources.
