The state officials should not hesitate to work beyond the mandate given to them when taking decisions regarding relief campaigns, Home Affairs Minister Vajira Abeywardena stated.
Abeywardena pointed out that all government officials should work together to assist the people of flood-hit areas.
“They should not fear to take decisions dispute the circulars issued earlier,” he pointed out.
Abeywardena made these remarks while speaking to reporters in Udagama.
The Minister further said that there will be no changes in the decision to close all schools in the eight districts affected by the floods until Friday.
