
All the schools of the Western province which were temporary closed due to the severe weather conditions will reopen on Monday (05), the Ministry of Education announced.
Meanwhile, all schools of Sabaragamuwa, except 15 schools which are being used as temporary camps for flood victims, will too reopen tomorrow.
In the Southern Province, all the schools will reopen, expect 10 schools which are currently using as refugee centres for flood victims, and 29 are to remain closed as a result of the damage sustained due to floods and landslides.
The Disaster Management Center (DMC) says that around 704,815 people belonging to 185,805 families were affected in 15 districts due to the flood situation.
