24-year-old shot dead in Mattakkuliya

A 24-year-old youth was shot dead by two unidentified persons riding on a motorbike on Monday, while the victim was travelling in a three-wheeler in Mattakkuliya, police said.
According to police, the suspects had opened fire at the victim at the Jubilee road at around 11.30 am.
The police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the involved persons. The victim has been identified as Gayan Jeewantha alias Isusu who was a resident of Mattakkuliya.
The remains of the deceased were taken to the Colombo National hospital for an autopsy.
