Do not be deceived by false rumours - DMC

The Disaster Management Center (DMC) requests the public not to be deceived by baseless rumours.
Deputy Director of the DMC, Pradeep Kodippili stated that if there truly was a risk, the DMC would formally inform the public after conferring with credible technical institutions.
He elaborated that minor unrest had spread amongst the coastal populace of Hikkaduwa today (05), owing to a false rumour about an impending tsunami.
The Deputy Director proceeded to say that in such a case, the public should contact the Center and verify such rumours.
