New DG will be appointed for Health Ministry’s fund management - Rajitha

Steps will be taken to appoint a Director-General for the fund management of the Ministry of Health, Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne said.
The Minister stated that the appointment would be made with the aim of providing health services to the public efficiently.
Minister Senaratne added that he intended to acquire 04 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the health service by 2020.
He stated this upon attending the opening ceremony of the Kalutara Base Hospital’s new complex of medical clinics and the new cardiology unit.
He also stated that the foundation stone for a new Faculty of Nursing would be laid next month at the Sri Jayawardenapura Hospital premises
