
MP Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thero stated that the acts of the government has not reaped in any positive benefits for the country, rather has hindered the process.
He further added that the main goal as of now, is not to expect any good outcomes to be produced, but to rather help alleviate the government’s actions which will result in negative repercussions. The Thero made these statements during a media briefing held today.
He stated that a solid national constitution should be put in place, as currently individuals with power keep putting forward amendments as they deem fit, without considering a more wholesome aspect.
He concluded by saying that an official announcement by the individuals responsible has not been made regarding the points made on the removal of the CESS tax in Sri Lanka, and the President has not been apprised of this yet.
