Ready to face dengue spreading in flood-hit districts - Rajitha

Health Minister Dr Rajitha Senaratne says that the ministry is prepared to face the situation if dengue fever rapidly spreads in the districts affected by the recent floods.
He stated that the spreading of dengue has increased significantly due to urbanization and that this clearly evident in the Western Province.
The minister made these comments during a ceremony held today (10) to distribute the 50 lorries purchased by the Ministry of Health for dengue eradication activities.
Senaratne further said that the Ministry of Health alone cannot eradicate dengue and that the continuous assistance of public and state institutions is required for this effort.
