Eight arrested with heroin in separate raids

Eight suspects have been arrested for the possession of heroin following separate police operations carried out in several parts of the country. 

 

Police said that three suspects were nabbed with 02g and 280mg of heroin in the Galkanda Junction, Negombo. 

 

Another two men were arrested for the possession of 03g and 350mg of heroin in Delgahawatta, Homagama while it has been uncovered that they are also connected to several gold snatching incidents in Athurugiriya and Homagama. 

 

Meanwhile a suspect was arrested with 01g and 850mg of heroin at Gandara, Matara. He is a resident of Kekanadura, police said. 

 

One suspect was held at Helabaswewa, Medawachchiya with 02g and 150mg of heroin while another was arrested with 02g and 100mg of the narcotics in Kandarawa, Medawachchiya.

 

The arrested suspects are to be produced at Negombo, Homagama, Matara and Medawachchiya magistrate courts.
