
The committee set up to investigate the effects of the Colombo Port City project on the local fishing industry will gather today (13).
The committee gathering will be led by the secretary of the Fisheries, Mangalika Adikari.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Fisheries added that attention will be drawn to the Rs.500 million will supposedly be handed over to the Ministry, in the form of compensation.
Rs. 150 million from the donation will be distributed among 54 fisheries organizations, while Rs. 350 million will be allocated to the Fisheries Infrastructure Development.
Adikari added that the surveys carried out by NARA will be considered when decisions are being made.
