
The token strike conducted by the postal trade unions was concluded at 12.00 am earlier today (15).
The strike which began at 12.00 am on June 13 was carried out for a period of 48 hours, seeking the fulfilment of three requests.
Accordingly, Co-convener of the Joint Postal Trade Unions’ Front, Chinthaka Bandara stated that postal officials would resume their normal duties today (15).
Co-convener Chinthaka Bandara also added that a continuous strike would be conducted from June 26 onwards.
Meanwhile, upon an inquiry made by Ada Derana, Postmaster-General Rohana Abeyratne stated that necessary measures would be taken to organize the strike, in accordance with the requests made by the trade unions.
