Hartal in Hatton called off

A harthal movement which was commenced since this morning in Hatton came to an end after a discussion was held between traders and the Hatton- Dickoya Urban Council a short while ago.
The traders had organized the harthal demanding a proper way to dispose garbage in the area.
A protest was too held at the Hatton town over the issue this morning. The garbage collected from the area was earlier dumped at a site in Kuda-oya, however, it had come to a standstill since few weeks following an enjoining order issued by a Court , it was reported.
The harthal movement was called off after the Hatton- Dickoya Urban Council vowed to resolve the issue and provide a temporary site to dump waste.
