Decision on bus fares today

A Cabinet paper for the amendment of bus fares has already been presented to the cabinet of ministers, and a final decision on the amendments will be made today (20).
According to National policy, the bus fare is revised on the 1 of July each year, and a 6% increase is to be seen in this year’s fare.
However, the President of the Southern Province Private Bus Company Federation, Chandana de Soysa said that there is no need to obtain cabinet approval to amend the annual bus fare.
