Two suspects arrested with hashish worth Rs. 2.1 million

Naval personnel attached to the Western Naval Command, in coordination with Peliyagoda Police, nabbed two suspects with 3 kg of hashish at the Ingurukade Junction, Colombo.
The arrest was made yesterday (19) during a raid, which was carried out as per an intelligence tip-off received by the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN).
The consignment of hashish worth Rs. 2.1 million was seized whilst the drug peddlers were attempting to smuggle it by means of a motorcycle.
The arrested suspects, together with the motorcycle and the consignment of hashish were handed over to the Peliyagoda Police for onward legal action.
Accordingly, the Peliyagoda Police have commenced the conduction of further investigations into the incident.
