The six military intelligence personnel charged with the abduction of journalist Keith Noyahr in 2008, have been granted bail by the Colombo High Court today.
Noyahr, the former Deputy Editor of an English weekly newspaper, was abducted on May 22, 2008. A day later, he was dropped off near his residence, badly beaten up and bruised.
According to bail condition imposed on them earlier by the Mount Lavinia Magistrate’s Court, the military personnel were also ordered to appear at the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on the last Sunday of each month, for the duration of the trial.
