Resignation of Abeykoon yet another result of SAITM issue - GMOA

The resignation of Secretary to the President P.B. Abeykoon may have happened as yet another result of the controversy surrounding the SAITM issue, the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) predicted today.
GMOA Secretary Dr. Nalin Herath said that a problematic situation may have erupted between them following a letter issued by the Secretary which contained several decisions which had not been discussed with the GMOA during a recent meeting.
He further stated that it is a contempt for the President if remark of the Health Minister is true that details mentioned in the letter are ‘suspicious’.
