
The cabinet sub-committee will be submitting a report on the Uma Oya Multi-purpose Development Project to the President during the course of the next few days.
An ad hoc committee within the cabinet of ministers was appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena, in order to assess the situation surrounding the Uma Oya Multi-purpose Development Project.
The committee comprised of Ministers Mahinda Amaraweera, Patali Champika Ranawaa and Vijith Vijayamuni Soyza embarked on a field inspection of Bandarawela on Monday (03).
The committee, in addition to surveying the area, also engaged in conversation with the officers in charge of the project as well as the distressed civilians.
Mahinda Amaraweera stated that a comprehensive report on the current state of the project and the course of action to be followed in future will be submitted to the President without further delay.
