
The body of a farmer working as a water controller for fields supplied by the Kandalama river, was at the bottom of a river in the Rotawewa area.
Police have named the deceased has been identified as a 62-year-old father of four, who is a resident of the Rotawewa area.
Police have secured the area, and is currently collecting evidence to be presented to the Court.
The deceased had been missing for the past two days, after he had gone out to divert water to his crop field.
Police has managed to locate the bike he had used to get to his destination.
A fellow farmer who was also present to source water, stated that once the deed was done, they pair had enjoyed some freshly plucked Waraka, after which he had left the premises.
He further added that he was unaware of the incidents that followed after his departure.
