
An individual has been arrested after attempting a daylight break-in, to a residence in Athurugiriya.
Police stated that the individual was arrested during a supervised raid.
The stolen possessions include a necklace, ring, ‘Panchayuda’, a pair of earrings and four bangles – all of which were made of gold.
Further investigations revealed that the accused had arrest warrants issued against him by the Hambantota Magistrate’s Court for four other break-in accounts, carried out in the past.
The accused has been identified as a 26-year-old resident of Sooriyawewa.
Athurugiriya Police stated that the individual will be presented to the Kaduwela Magistrate’s Court, later today (10).
