Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, Faiszer Musthapha stated that government servants have faced serious negative consequences after following orders of politicians.
Musthapha added that it was within the politician’s responsibility to protect the welfare of government servants when looking for solutions to the problems present in the country.
The statements were brought out yesterday (10), during a session held to discuss the problems faced by three-wheeler drivers operating in the Western Province.
Musthapha responded to the allegations made against the individuals involved in operating three-wheeler parks.
Furthermore, Chairman of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, Dr. Sisira Kodagoda who attended the discussions on the day stated that the request pitched to increase the legal speed limit for three-wheelers, has been rejected.
Dr. Kodagoda further added that most road traffic accidents in the country have been caused by three-wheelers.
