Const. won’t affect importance bestowed on Buddhism and unity - President

President Maithripala Sirisena states that the new constitution will fulfill its inherent duty towards Buddhism and the unity of the nation, and that no changes would be made to the clauses concerning the country’s unity.
The President also added that a draft constitution was yet to be made.
President Sirisena stated this upon attending a religious ceremony at the Mahaweli Shalika Hall of Dehiaththakandiya.
Meanwhile, the President’s Media Division stated that President Sirisena had also participated in the opening ceremonies of the new Zonal Education Office of Dimbulagala and the new Technology Unit of the Medagama Secondary School.
