A shooting had occurred near the Magul Pokuna church in Mahabage, Wattala at 9.00pm today (11).
Police reported that two individuals travelling on a bike had opened fire at a vehicle (Jeep) traveling on the road.
The individual was admitted to the Ragama Hospital after sustaining injuries during the shooting.
Police believe that the shooting had occurred due to a personal dispute that existed between both the parties involved, while the Mahabage Police Department have begun further investigations on the matter.
Meanwhile, a similar shooting had occurred in Ingiriya today (11), as well.
Police reported that the shooting included four individuals opening fire at a home owner in Ingiriya, where the home owner left the scene unharmed.
Upon further investigation, police managed to arrest one individual involved in the shooting and was able to locate and take into custody a firearm found in a forest nearby.
