Pharmacies in Southern Prov. shut down for 24 hours in strike action

The Society of Government Pharmacists, has engaged in a one-day strike at all state run pharmacies in the Southern Province.
The chairman of the society, Ajith P. Thilakaratne said that the strike was launched as the objectives set out by the health authorities, have not been executed and implemented.
Thilakaratne added that although a number of issues were reported to the Director of the Provincial Health Service and the Secretary of the Southern Provincial Council on several occasions, they had not responded accordingly.
