Protest fast blocks entry to Southern Expressway

A group of residents is conducting a protest fast, blocking the Nambadagaswewa entry point of the Southern Expressway.
Ada Derana correspondent reported that the protest fast had been launched against the lack of proper compensation for the houses and property lost in the expansion of the Hambantota – Suriyawewa 100 foot road.
Reports state that 463 families of Mahaara, Thelawilla, Andara Wewa, Baddewewa and Nambadagaswewa had been deprived of fair compensation.
