Lotus Road closed for traffic due to anti-SAITM protest march

The Lotus Road has also been closed off from the Galle Face roundabout as a result of the anti-SAITM protest conducted by the Inter-University Bhikku Action Committee.
Heavy traffic has also been reported in Maradana, owing to said protest.
A court order was issued by the Fort Magistrate’s Court earlier today (18), after the Fort Police informed the Court of information they had received about a protest scheduled to take place in and around Fort.
The Court accordingly ruled that the protest should not inconvenience the public and traffic, or pose any sort of danger.
The court order also forbids unauthorized intrusion into government offices.
