Irregularities in Rs.120 million worth medical supplies probed

The Presidential Commission for Inquiry has commenced an investigation on allegations of financial irregularities that occurred within the medical supplies division.
The Commission stated that investigations are being conducted over the purchase of medical supplies from a private cooperation, between the years 2010 and 2015.
Allegations included the purchasing of 8700 medical supplies against tender regulations, worth a total of Rs. 1,29,000,000.
Thirteen people suspected to have been linked to the case, were summoned to the Commission today (21), including the former directors of the medical supplies division, deputy directors and the personal managing director of the pharmaceutical supply company.
