
The Department of Examinations announced that the conduction of GCE Advanced Level tuition classes will be banned from 12.00 am tomorrow (03), in light of the upcoming Advanced Level examinations.
Commissioner General of Examinations, W. M. N. J. Pushpakumara stated that the ban would be enforced till the end of the examinations on September 02.
During the period from August 03 till September 02, conduction of tuition classes, subject-specific seminars and workshops, publishing and distribution of model papers, and the publication of posters, banners and flyers promoting such model papers through both electronic and printed media will be prohibited.
The Commissioner General also stated that legal action would be taken against any persons found to be in violation of said government-imposed regulations, under the Public Examinations Act.
GCE Advanced Level examinations will be conducted from August 08 through September 02, whereas the Grade 5 Scholarship examination will commence on August 20.
Minister of Education, Akila Viraj Kariyawasam stated that Advanced Level examination results would be results on December 27 and that the Grade 05 scholarship results would be released on October 05.
