Anti-SAITM protests cause heavy traffic at Town Hall

Ada Derana reporters revealed that heavy traffic has been reported around Town Hall due to the anti SAITM protests being carried out today (2).
The protests include representatives from Doctors Trade Unions, University students, lecturers and others who stand against the functioning of the South Asia Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM).
Demonstrators engaged in actions such as the signing of petitions against the functioning of SAITM, protesting in groups and reporting to work wearing black cloth belts.
Furthermore, the convener of the Federation of University Teachers’ Association, Dr. Manoj Weerasinghe stated that they too have organized many anti- SAITM programs to be conducted today.
