Bus runs over two people in Kataragama

An accident at the Kataragama Ranjith Madduma Bandara sports complex involving 3 people, claimed the lives of 02.
The police have reported that the accident occurred whilst a bus was reversing and ran over 03 people who were asleep behind the bus.
It has been reported that 02 of the 03 wounded parties were dead upon admittance at the Kataragama General hospital.
The deceased persons aged 18 and 41 were travelers who had journeyed to Kataragama in the same bus that ran them over. Reportedly they had arrived in Kataragama to witness the annual Kataragama perahera ceremony.
The driver of the bus has been taken into the custordy of the Kataragama police.
