
A group of UNP parliamentarians have submitted a complaint against Chamara Sampath Dassanayake the Chief Minister of the Uva province, to the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption. (CIABC)
Chief Minister Dassanayake who was elected to parliament from Badulla in 2015, has been under constant scrutiny from his opposition party members for claims of bribery and corruption.
The complaint has been lodged to investigate several fraudulent acts that several ministers of the residing area have allegedly committed.
The UNP ministers stated that the complaint lodged against the Chief Minister will be the first of many that they hope to submit to the commission to weed out corrupt politicians in the area.
