President Maithripala Sirisena stated that the most proactive way to rid the country of all socio-economic, ethnic and cultural evils is by respecting a person’s individuality.
He also stated that the conflict existing between lay persons and religious dignitaries must be curtailed creating a society that acts responsibly and with understanding.
President Sirisena made these statements at an event held at the Matara Weherahena temple.
