Van crashes into and knocks down high-tension tower; 2 injured

At least two persons were injured and hospitalized after a van crashed into a high-tension tower in Kiribathkumbura, Peradeniya causing it to collapse on to the road.
According to reports, the van had veered off the road and hit a high-tension tower on the roadside in the Kiribathkumbura area.
The tower had collapsed on to the road and at the same time dragged down another tower in the process.
Ada Derana reporter said that two persons were injured in the accident and have been admitted to hospital.
The incident has resulted in severe traffic congestion on the Colombo – Kandy main road at Kiribathkumbura.
