53-year-old clubbed and stabbed to death in Wellawa

Police have launched an investigation into a murder which occurred in Uyangolla, Wellawa.
The murder had reportedly occurred late last night (14) when the victim, 53, had been assaulted with a sharp weapon as well as a club.
The magistrate’s inquest of the body and the post-mortem examination are due to be conducting within the course of the day (15) at the Hiripitiya Hospital.
Police are yet to uncover any information on any suspects.
