The Attorney General’s Department today informed the Colombo Magistrate’s Court that there is a possibility of arresting the former Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo, who performed the postmortem examination on the remains of Wasim Thajudeen.
Deputy Solicitor General Dilan Ratnayake, appearing on behalf of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), communicated this to the court when the case pertaining to the murder of the former Sri Lankan rugby player was taken up today (24).
Submitting a report to the court, the Deputy Solicitor General stated that investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
He stated that further investigations are being carried out with regard to the misplacement of Thajudeen’s remains based on a search warrant obtained from the court and that there is a possibility of arresting the former Chief JMO of Colombo Dr Ananda Samarasekara, over the incident.
