The Military Spokesman Brigadier Roshan Seneviratne reported that two Army Officers stationed in Kilinochchi sustained severe injuries after being stabbed by a group of unidentified persons last night (24).
Reports confirm that both Army officers were admitted to the Kilinochchi Hospital following which, one of them was transferred to the Colombo General Hospital as he was in a critical condition and required immediate emergency medication.
Brigadier Seneviratne stated that the attack was fuelled by a personal dispute that transpired between the two-groups. It was further reported that one of the Officer’s was attacked whilst on holiday in his home, while the other Officer was due to return to duty from his companion’s residence.
It was also stated that the Police are actively in pursuit of the suspects in an attempt to apprehend them.
