Met Department warns of heavy rainfall

The Department of Meteorology says that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Central and Sabaragamuwa Provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.
The department’s Early Warning Centre issued a special weather bulletin for rainy condition over the southwestern parts of the country, valid until Tuesday (29).
Heavy falls (about 100 mm) can be expected at some places, particularly in the Rathnapura, Kegalle, Kaluthara, Galle and Matara districts, it said.
There may be temporary localized strong winds during thunsdershowers, the department said.
