Two critical following shooting in Maligawatta

Two persons were critically injured and hospitalised following a shooting incident at Maligawatta in the Maradana police division, a short while ago.

 

Police spokesman ASP Ruwan Gunasekara said that the shooting was carried out by two suspects on a motorcycle while the victims were traveling in a three-wheeler near Ruby Junction in Maligawatta. 

 

The two injured persons have been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital and are said to be in critical condition. 

 

UPDATE: One more persons who sustained injuries following the shooting has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.

 

The wounded persons have been identified as residents of Borella and aged 20, 26 and 31.

 

Maradana Police and the Colombo Crimes Division (CCD) have launched investigations into the shooting incident.
