A collision between a car and cab in close proximity to the Batugedara junction near Ratnapura has led to the death of 3 persons and severely injured 6 others.
The Police have reported that the accident occurred due to a head on collision between a motor car and a cab.
Reports confirm that two individuals of the same family travelling in the motor car along with an accompanying female lost their lives at the moment of impact.
The Police have stated that the deceased persons were aged 45 and 80 while the female was 60 years old.
One female survivor travelling in the motor vehicle along with five passengers travelling in the cab was admitted to the Ratnapura hospital for emergency treatment.
The Police have confirmed that the corpses were transferred from the crash site to the Ratnapura hospital.
