4 individuals illegally mining relics apprehended

Rideegama Police officials took 4 persons that were illegally mining relics in close proximity to the Galpaya Cave Temple into custody earlier today (2).
It has been reported that the arrest were made following intelligence that was provided to the Rideegama Police unit. The Police confiscated several tools utilized for excavation and a number of ancient artifacts that had been dug up by the perpetrators.
Reports confirm that the arrested persons are residents of Matale and Kegalle. The Police have stated that further investigations will be conducted on the excavated site.
