The Department of Meteorology says that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in the Western, Southern, Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces.
Showers or thundershowers will occur elsewhere after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly heavy falls (about 75-100 mm) are expected at some places, Particularly Western, Southern, Central and North-Central provinces.
On the apparent southward relative motion of the sun, it is going to be directly over the latitudes of Sri Lanka during 27th of August and 06th of September in this year.
The nearest towns of Sri Lanka over which the sun is almost overhead today (03) are Kochchikade, Godigamuva, Kandalama, Talagama, Giragama, Gurudeniya, Hapukanda, Maduruoya, Pothuliyadda, Palamunai and Addalachchena about 12.10 noon.
