19 hospitalised after Uni bus collides with car

At least 19 persons, mostly university students, were wounded and hospitalised following a collision involving a bus and a car at Navinna junction in Maharagama on the High Level Road.
Police said that a bus belonging to the University of Sri Jayawardenapura Kotte transporting a group of 65 students returning from a workshop in Thalangama was involved in a head-on collision with a car last night.
A total of 19 passengers were admitted to the Kalubowila Hospital following the crash while one of the students in said to be in critical condition.
Both drivers of the bus and car have been arrested while Maharagama Police is conducting an investigation.
