
The Disaster Management Centre of Sri Lanka (DMC) has urged the general public to be vigilant of possible natural disasters that may be caused as a result of prolonged rainfall.
Assistant Director of the Disaster Management Centre Pradeep Kodippili stated that residents of Galle and Nuwara Eliya are to be especially alert of possible land-slides.
DMC Officials have further reported that preventive measures are being taken in 06 regions including Polonnaruwa and Kanduruwela to diminish damage caused by strong winds that are passing through the area.
