NPC to make final decision on 20A after amendments

The Northern Provincial Council has refused to arrive at a final decision on the 20th Amendment to the Constitution of Sri Lanka.
They will therefore be taking future amendments into consideration before making their decision.
This was discussed during the 105th session of the Northern Provincial Council which was held earlier today (07) under the leadership of Chief Minister C. V. Vigneswaran.
When the Council convened on September 04, they were unable to arrive at a final consensus on the 20th Amendment, and therefore stated that they would make their final decision today (07).
C. V. Vigneswaran stated that they would only take the 20th Amendment into consideration if amendments were made, as the present draft was problematic.
