Northern Irish MP Ian Paisley Jr of the Democratic Unionist Party, was accused yesterday (7) of accepting free luxury holidays from Sri Lanka amounting to an approximate value of £100,000 in 2013. 

Ian Paisley Jr who is a strong ally of Theresa May accepted two all-expenses-paid trips to Sri Lanka in 2013 where he was accompanied by his wife and two children the telegraph reported. 

According to the Times UK, He flew to Sri Lanka in business class, stayed in luxury hotels and was provided with a chauffeur-driven car and helicopter travel during the holidays, which were worth a total of £100,000, it was alleged. Mr Paisley, 50, the son of Ian Paisley, the former first minister of Northern Ireland, has promoted Sri Lanka in the UK.

It has been reported that Mr.Paisley did not declare his two trips on the parliamentary Common Register of interests causing an investigation. 
Sources confirm that in exchange, Mr.Paisley was to aid Sri Lanka in brokering an oil deal stating that he had significant influence with oil suppliers in Oman and Nigeria.  
 
Ian Paisley who has had strong ties with Sri Lanka was photographed earlier this week with the Sri Lankan High Commissioner Amari Wijewardene near the House of Parliament. Mr.Paisley is one of 10 Northern Irish MPs relied on by Theresa May to keep her government functioning properly.
