Deputy Head of the Prime Minister’s Office Rosy Senanayake denied any ties with Perpetual Treasuries Limited and stated that she will take necessary action against media institutions that have spread distorted facts in an effort to thwart her character and integrity.
Rosy Senanayake stated that at no point during her tenure in the COPE committee did she give out any confidential documents or information to employees of PTL. She further stated that any media institutions publicizing false facts about her have ‘totally misrepresented’ her.
Following revelations at the Bond Commission, representatives of the AG’s department shed light on several telephone conversations that suggested the involvement of the son of Rosy Senanayake. The Current Prime Minister’s Spokesperson however completely denied such allegations as she was not a member of the COPE committee during the time period of the recorded telephone conversation.
She further expressed her grief over the false facts spread to the public through the media.
