Heavy traffic due to anti-SAITM protest in Colombo

Severe traffic congestion has been reported on all roads adjoining Thunmulla Junction due to the protest march against SAITM making its way to Lipton Circus.
Five vehicle parades which commenced from Horana, Kalutara, Chilaw, Nittambuwa and Avissawella this morning, demanding that the private medical college in Malabe be shut down, have reached Colombo from five different directions.
University students, the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) and several other professional trade unions and political parties are participating in the protest march and vehicle parade.
UPDATE (3.13pm) - All roads leading to Town Hall have been blocked for traffic due to the protest march.
